    About Us

My wife and I moved to Orenco Station in 2004 and didn't know a soul. We didn't know where to find a doctor, a plumber, a painter, or even a good Chinese restaurant. I serve on a homeowners' association board and couldn't even help a woman looking for a tennis partner.

view of neighborhood

The more we lived here, the more it seemed to me that people are working too hard and for too many hours. Overworked, underpaid and stressed out. No one has time to get to know his or her neighbor in order to ask about stuff people need to know. Hence this site. It's a forum for neighbors to talk to each other and maybe even find a friend. It's free and no one will contact you. Logon is for security, not commercialism (I don't even know where the database is).

I like this neighborhood, which is why I serve on the Orenco Station HOA board and on the Rowhomes' Building Committee. My friends live here and I'd like to help make neighborhood businesses work here.

Like most small business owners, my real estate business works by referral, and I'm never too busy for yours. Click on Ask Bill if you'd like to get on my mailing list. I send along pieces of helpful information on such topics as remodeling and credit scores as well as market information so you will know what your house is worth. Sometimes a little spiff comes along, too.

I advertise this site consistently and try to offer a high level of service. Besides a comparative market analysis, a home warranty and a professional staging consultation are included for listing clients. Most of all, I listen. Clients are either neighbors or neighbors-to-be!

Please give me your feedback on the site. It won't work without it!

A portion of my commissions supports Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Adam Topol (www.adamtopol.com) is an amazing drummer. He has achieved a degree of fame as a band member with singer-songwriter Jack Johnson and recently formed his own band, the Culver City Dub Collective. Adam is my nephew and I'm extremely proud of him. He's worked incredibly hard and has overcome tremendous obstacles.

Sean Swarmer (www.cancerclimber.org) is a hero in every sense of the word. At 13, he was given three months to live upon being diagnosed with Stage Four Hodgkin's Disease. He somehow survived, but incredibly, at age 15, a tumor in his chest turned out to be Askin's Sarcoma. Doctors gave him two weeks to live. He responded by climbing Mt. Everest when he was 28, despite having the use of only one lung. His website and project is devoted to inspiring young cancer victims.
